Issue 002 • January 2002

Welcome to the second edition of LimeLetter. Let me briefly explain what you will be seeing on this and future editions of the newsletter. First of all, this is an informal, wrap up, of changes and updates to my web site projects. It is important to know that both Limegreen Tangerine and Bea Arthur in the Lime Light web sites are nothing more than a hobby for me. As a career, web design has rules and laws, but as a hobby, design on the web can be quite adventurous! Please take some time and browse through my online adventures.

Kev!

Recent updates ::

• A Christmas Present :: Niko and Lars
Check out the latest video posted HERE. Matthew surprised me this year for Christmas with two bundles of joy.

• Apple Quicktime and Macromedia Flash ::
Limegreen Tangerine is fully integrating Apple's Quicktime technology and Macromedia's Flash and Shockwave as a norm into the design. I have been replacing huge animated GIF files with smooth Flash and Quicktime intros on various web projects. The features are just too cool to pass up and they bring net usability to a new level. Please upgrade your browsers to Quicktime 5.0 and Flash 5 today. It will be well worth your internet experience on this and other web sites.

Coming soon ::

So many ideas and so little time. Thats right... the waiting game!

• More Quicktime videos :: including a preview of the latest video project :: Intimate Portrait : Kathryn Rippy and our trip to Hawaii last year!

• Secure login for personal and client related page views.

• Influence section :: Ab.Fab.Rehab :: Skyscrapers :: Apple.chunks

Recommended links ::

May I point out a few other web sites that make me happy?

WangoMail :: Great new service for sending out mass emails.The LimeLetter now is served by WangoMail. Highly recommended!

MSNBC - Week In Pictures :: I visit this site every week religiously. A super collection of the best pictures taken around the world, every week. Must see.

Bucktech :: Looking for home network solutions beyond two computers and cable? Check out my brother's new venture and get hooked up!

Mac Show Live :: This WAS, a good set up. A 2 hour, weekly, audio show about the Apple world. However, today, I noticed that they just changed everything around, and now charging for certain parts of their content. Check it out anyway!

Left to my own devices ::

Apple did it again. I would like to welcome the new iMac into the world. Who wouldn't want one of these just sitting on their desk? I would like one for every room in my house. Just for looks! I'm going to be putting the high end model on my wish list. Just for burning my DVD movies! Read more about this beautiful beast HERE.

Limegreen Tangerine Designs ::

Did you know that I never leave the house? That's because I don't have to! Since August 2000, I've been working for myself as a freelance designer. It's been a rough year, but well worth it. There is nothing better then being your own boss and doing what I love... computers and design.

If your interested in anything from a new web site to online video conversion, contact me today! Please visit Limegreen Tangerine Designs today for more information!

The rest of it ::

What the hell is LimeGreen Tangerine?

a) an online portfolio
b) a personal web site made by an illiterate idiot
c) a virtual playground of nothingness
d) delusions of grandeur

Answer :: all of the above

I have the hardest time explaining to people what my web site is about. Mainly, because I don't know myself. The wonderful part is that it is okay that I don't know.

Bea in NYC ::

We're getting closer to the opening of Bea's newly, revamped for Broadway, show on January 29th!

For updated information on this finale event, keep revisiting the tour information section on the web site.

Also, look forward to the upcoming articles and reviews that will be popping up once her show starts!

If you are going to her NYC show, please email me with your experience. If you get to meet Bea and have pictures to share, please send those too! I am still posting people's experiences on the web site to share with the world!

Remaining tour dates ::

Jan. 11-13, 2002: Lynchburg, VA, Lynchburg Academy of Music (to be staged at Smith Hall, Randolph-Macon Woman's College)

Bea Arthur on Broadway :: Just Between Friends

Jan. 29 - Mar. 10, 2002 :: New York City :: Booth Theatre :: 222 West 45th Street

Recent updates ::

• Updated dates and announcements on Bea's Broadway venture HERE.

• Many more Quicktime videos have been converted and uploaded to the site, in the collection section!

Coming soon ::

Here are a few things I have in the pipeline. Basically, I'll get to them when I have the time.

• Bea's biography :: a collaborative effort written by myself and good Bea friend, Jessica.

• More Quicktime videos of Bea in her glory!

• Major design update; adding many new sections!

Recommended links ::

Golden Girls UK :: simply the best, overall, web site dedicated to the Golden Girls. The webmaster is very personable, which makes any web site more enjoyable. (she's currently working on a SIM's version of the Golden Girl house, how cool is that!)

And Then There's Bea Yahoo! Club :: for more updated news on Bea Arthur and her tour, check out this Yahoo! Club that I created earlier this year. It has been an extremely valuable resource of information.

And Then There's Bea :: this is the official web site to Bea's current tour. Unfortunately, its pretty clunky and has only been updated once.

Bea Arthur In The Lime Light :: well of course I have to mention my own site... again! Be sure to visit often, I am always changing and updating the site whenever I have the time!

Last words ::

Contacting me. I love hearing from (most of) you, so always feel free to email or instant message me. I promise (almost) to return your email, however, I do get backed up and it may be a week or two until I can reply. Just a little warning for you in advanced!

Club Chat
The second club chat on And Then There's Bea Yahoo! Club will be held on January 20th at 9pm (eastern). Please stop by and join the fun!

One last thing :: Be sure to listen to a song by Rufus Wainwright titled California. There is a delightful mention of Bea Arthur in mid song.
Please be sure to check out past editions of the LimeLetter here.
